In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, finalize and approve bylaws, interact with representatives from the Software Freedom Law Center, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the June meeting's minutes and the September meeting's minutes).

We'll also review our recent Wikis Take Manhattan event, and make preparations for our exciting successor Wikipedia Loves Art! bonanza, being planned with the Brooklyn Museum for February.

In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.

[edit] Re. User:Omegatron/Interviews with Normals

In Joe's section you imply that editing the talk page to leave comments is the wrong way around it... it was actually intended to be that way, just like any other article on WP. It wasn't a necessity for the person to press the + in the past nor is 'new section' so extremely important today (not that a person can really respond to some other thread with only a 'new section'). I understand that it may not be perfectly intuitive at first - not for those who aren't programmers anyway - but I don't think it's really as hopeless, or implemented badly, as you may think it is. O_o

And actually, like in Emma's bit, I don't think it's as much the interface's fault as her own personal insecurity. She is obviously different from all the vandals as you point out but I suppose even really timid people eventually try to fix something that's been bothering them for a while. They'd just try to look up the documentation (like Sarah said) and they could learn it pretty quickly, I think. WP may not be intuitive for complete newcomers but then again life itself isn't at birth. -- Mentisock 14:12, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
