Some Wikipedians have formed a Project to better organize information in articles related to Stargate and its spin-offs. It attempts to coordinate collaborative writing efforts, organize and create standards for making good articles. It endeavours to create a good reference for the Stargate universe in encyclopedic terms. If you want to join, simply help out and add your name to the Participants.

This Wikiproject aims to create profiles for all major facets, characters, races and technologies in the Stargate universe, and create a consistent look for each kind of page. Most new topics can be incorporated into existing articles; we do not need fancruft or pages on minor things, such as Ida Galaxy. It is also our goal to create a complete and comprehensive episode guide in the form of season articles, and where applicable, episode articles, and to organize all Stargate pages and link them all systematically, making the Stargate database easy to navigate.

Here are some tasks you can do:

Merge: Find nonnotable or in-universe articles and consider trimming and merging them into lists or more notable articles.
Verify: Add reliable and verifiable inline citations and external references to Stargate articles.
Cleanup: Remove original research and speculation and shorten plot summaries to make more room for a balanced analysis with reliable sources. Consider transwikiing plot summaries to wikia:Stargate.
Expand: Add real-world information to articles to help establish notability
Stubs: Expand Stub-Class Stargate articles and Start-Class Stargate articles with real-world information or merge them to parent articles.
Other:
- Remove unnecessary non-free images (such as screenshots), and add or expand fair use rationales for all other non-free images. As a rule of thumb, one or two non-free images per article are not a problem, while articles with more than five non-free images should be avoided.
- Rewrite character articles to establish notability. See Vala Mal Doran or Radek Zelenka as good examples.
- Write and rewrite episode articles to establish notability. See "200", "Search and Rescue", or any of our Good Articles for good examples.

If you are a member, or would like to join this WikiProject, just place one of the Userboxes below to your user page (the userboxes will add the user to the members category), and/or add your name to the list below (in alphabetical order). This allows users to find likeminded wikipedians faster. Users who haven't contributed to the project, or Wikipedia in general, in a while will be added to the "Retired or inactive participants" list. They will be re-added to the "Active participants" list once they are active again.
