Rząd (biologia)

Rząd (łac. ordo) - kategoria systematyczna (taksonomiczna) niższa od gromady i klasy, a wyższa od rodziny. W nomenklaturze naukowej taksony o randze rzędu otrzymują końcówkę -idae (zwierzęta) lub -ales (rośliny). Nazwy polskie rzędów zapisuje się pismem prostym i z małej litery. Nazwy naukowe rzędów w zoologii nie wyróżniane są obecnie kursywą (italikiem)^[1]. W botanice i mikologii zgodnie z Kodeksem Nomenklatury Botanicznej stosuje się zwyczajowo zapis nazwy naukowej kursywą^[2].
